چکیده
Objectives: This study aimed to assess how menstrual cycle phase and extended length influence the incidence of injuries in international footballers. Methods: Over a 4-year period, from England footballers at training camps or matches were recorded, alongside self-reported information on characteristics point injury. Injuries eumenorrheic players categorized into early follicular, late luteal phase. Frequencies also compared between recorded during typical those that occurred after would be expected have finished. Injury rates (per 1,000 person days) injury rate ratios calculated for each all stratified by type. Results: One hundred fifty-six 113 eligible analysis. per person-days 31.9 46.8 35.4 phase, resulting 1.47 (Late follicular:Follicular), 1.11 (Luteal:Follicular), 0.76 (Luteal:Late follicular). incident showed muscle tendon 88% greater follicular with rupture/tear/strain/cramps injuries/ruptures occurring over twice as often other phases 20% reported when athletes “overdue” menses. Conclusion: Muscle almost risk may elevated typically women days their next menstruation was start.

Fear recognition across the menstrual cycle.
This study assesses the mediating role of stage of menstrual cycle in the recognition of emotional expressions. It was hypothesised that fear recognition ability would be stronger at high-oestrogen stages of the menstrual cycle. The accuracy of recognising emotional expressions was compared across 50 women who were at different stages of their menstrual cycle. It was found that accuracy to reco...

Evidence suggests that spatial processing changes across time in naturally cycling women, which is likely due to neuromodulatory effects of steroid hormones. Yet, it is unknown whether crossmodal spatial processes depend on steroid hormones as well. In the present experiment, the crossmodal congruency task was used to assess visuo-tactile interactions in naturally cycling women, women using hor...
متن کاملPreferences for symmetry in faces change across the menstrual cycle.
Symmetry in human male faces may be a cue to heritable fitness benefits and is found attractive. Preferences for facial masculinity, another proposed marker of genetic quality, have been found to vary in ways that may maximise evolutionary relevant benefits and masculinity is found to be of increased attractiveness at peak fertility across the menstrual cycle. Here we show that women prefer mor...
متن کاملChanges in women’s interpersonal styles across the menstrual cycle
Past research suggests that women alter their behaviors during periods of high fertility to attract mates. Consistent with this notion, the current research examined the interpersonal style, as defined by the interpersonal circumplex, men tend to find most attractive in potential mates and the change in women’s interpersonal styles across the menstrual cycle. In Study 1, a sample of 101 single ...
متن کاملHemispheric asymmetry in spatial attention across the menstrual cycle.
Functional cerebral asymmetries (FCAs) are known to fluctuate across the menstrual cycle. The mechanisms of these sex hormonal modulations are poorly understood. It has been suggested that gonadal steroid hormones might suppress or specifically activate one hemisphere. However, recent studies suggest that high levels of gonadal steroid hormones reduce FCAs by its modulating effects on cortico-c...
